$2.1 Million Returned to Utah Farmers & Ranchers

In February, Western AgCredit returned over $2.1 million to customers in the form of patronage checks. This is the first of two semi-annual payments sent to farmers and ranchers of rural Utah that borrow money from Western AgCredit.

“Operating as a cooperative allows Western AgCredit to return a significant amount of corporate profits back to our owner stockholders,” said President Richard Weathered. “Unlike commercial banks, Western AgCredit’s stockholders are the same people who borrow from us. Membership in Western AgCredit definitely pays dividends.”

Returning this money to our customers, primarily located in rural Utah, lowers their cost of borrowing and gives them additional funds to pay down debt or purchase more goods and services for their farming or ranching operations. This year, patronage payments were the equivalent of reducing customers' already competitive rates by .75%!
