EMAIL AND INTERNET-RELATED FRAUDULENT SCHEMES
The information below will help Western AgCredit's customers avoid some of the following deceptive practices:
- Western AgCredit's web page should never be accessed from a link provided by a third party. It should be accessed directly by typing the site name or URL into the address bar on the web browser or by using a "book mark" specifically created to access the Western AgCredit web site.
- Western AgCredit does not send e-mail messages to request personal information, such as account numbers, passwords, PIN numbers or other confidential information. Such requests are of a suspicious nature and should be reported immediately.
- Western AgCredit is required to purchase security certificates or licenses to verify information provided to the institution is secure. These certificates are kept up-to-date by financial institutions and can be easily validated by checking the properties on the secure web page.
